48 Hour Media Fast

Goal: No t.v., internet, magazines, newspapers, radio, video games, ipods, or stereos for 48 hours!
Outcome: Mission accomplished.

This tasks was actually a lot easier than I first thought is was going to be! We accomplished a lot in our 2 days. There was a little whining and it wasn't from Landon (Chris was a little lost with out his t.v.).

Friday 12:00 AM: Chris turns off the t.v...

Saturday was a great family day. We headed to the park and had a picnic lunch. The sun even came out for us!

After our picnic lunch we headed home for a much needed nap! While Landon was napping Mommy and Daddy worked on a puzzle together.

Anna came over for dinner. We had yummy herb and garlic grilled chicken, grilled potatoes, and asparagus. After dinner Anna and I ran to Starbucks and DQ, while Chris gave Landon a bath and put him to bed.
Then we played Phase 10 and Skip Bo...
What a great day we had. I even managed to find time to finish my book and start another. Sunday was not as fun filled, but I got a lot accomplished. I decided to take on the task of cleaning out my closets and get things ready to be sold. This turned out to be a much larger task than I thought. It took me all day. I now have very organized closets and a large pile of stuff to try to sell on craigslist.

All in all it was a great weekend. Poor Chris really missed his t.v. and counted down the hours till midnight just so he could turn it back on. I found it very refreshing to spend some great time with my family without any distractions.

Spoon!

This morning marked an important milestone for Landon. We have been trying to get him to stop throwing his food and keep a bowl or plate on his tray. This has been a struggle! Well this morning the bowl of yogurt actually stayed on the tray and the yogurt stayed in the bowl (with the exception of what he got on his hands and face). He even attempted to use his spoon!!
Things did get a little messy towards the end, but I think we are finally making some progress!

May Happenings

May has been a busy month for us. Poor Chris has been pretty much working nonstop since May 1st, we don't get to see much of him :(.

We started May off by celebrating Landon's baptism with all his family and friends.

Everybody joined us at our house afterwards for a cookout. Grandma and Grampy Russ even came all the way from New Hampshire

We had a great day with some great weather!

On May 7th Landon and I went out to Chris's Grandparents house to have a Mother's Day BBQ

Jaden and Ethan had fun in the ball pit

Landon just loved running around the yard

On May 12th Landon and I surprised Auntie Anna for her birthday. We took her out for lunch and coffee and then to the Saginaw Children's Museum.

Then the next day we stayed out at Auntie Emily's house to celebrate Em and Anna's Birthdays with a girl's night.

On the 22nd we spent the day playing at Uncle Nick and Aunt Jen's house.
Emma taught Landon how to slide and he just loves it!

The video is sideways sorry, I forget I can't rotate video.

Here's to a happy, healthy and fun June!!

Something New

Lately without school things have been a little boring for me at night when the boys go to bed. So I decided it was time for something new. I have noticed a few of our new friends have blogs, so I figured I'd give it a go.

We are getting excited for summer here in the Collins household. I am taking this time to enjoy Landon and have some fun before starting clinicals this fall. This summer should be a ton of fun. It's hard to believe that this time last year going to the park consisted of Landon and myself going to the park and laying on a blanket. This year I get to chase him. He is a running fool.

I have great plans for us this summer! Starting off with a weekend at my grandparents and my cousins graduation. So proud of him! Then baby Jaden turns 1! After that it is camping at CHR. We are also signed up for various activities with Landon's cousins with church, and we are planning a camping trip to Lake of dreams with those same cousins. Hoping to have a fun filled summer that I can share with all of you!
